Lapidaries working in Edinburgh's "new town" made most of the pebble jewellery produced in the 18th and 19th centuries

It features an inscription to the reverse: "GC 1834"

with clear English hallmarks for the year 1885

apparently

modelled in 18 karat gold with an incredibly fine gold seam between the vitreous red and cream enamel sections
