Smith of Hastings, Minnesota and Charles M. Howe of Auburn, New York. Smith was a soldier in the Civil War, serving in Co. C, 5th Massachusetts Infantry. Apparently he was wounded in action, because I found an "Army Invalid" certificate for him online. Photographers cities are: J. S.
