1897 Bersey Electric Taxi Protopunk A soldier holding a sword1897 Bersey Electric Taxi. This was the first type of self propelled cab licensed for hire in London and came from the fleet of the London Electrical Cab Company. It had a range of thirty miles between battery charges, hardly sufficient for a day's work. The batteries were positioned in a tray under the chassis. This is believed to be the only survivor of seventy similar cabs built.
