These birds are cut using a band saw from what would have been waste wood of other woodworkers who work on a larger scale. Once I have cut them, I drill holes for the eyes, I sand them, soften the edges, oil them and then carefully hand paint the edges allowing the paint to roll over the just enough to create a soft outline to the profile of the bird.
