Figure 1 is the Giant anteater (modern taxonomy Myrmecophaga tridactyla) from South America at one quarter life size, with an inset detail of the scaly skin from the animal's tail. The image was drawn from a stuffed specimen at Stuttgart, Germany. Figure 2 is the Sunda pangolin (Manis javanica) from South east Asia at one third life size.
