Autumn at Hound Tor Black you can see how IA walk on Dartmoor in early Autumn up beside Hound Tor and a short walk to a village dating back to the Middle Ages. I was struck by the colours and panoramic views. Using some visual notes I had made on site I returned to the studio. I decided to work with pastels on board. In this case I used a nice wide panel that came from a draw of an Edwardian chest of draws. I sanded the wood, then primed it with a pastel primer and then drew using Rembrandt
